One of the first actions the Town of Hudson took when it was incorporated in February, 1909, was to purchase 8 acres (Section 21, Township 98W, Range 34N) from Ferd Wise for a cemetery. R. H. Hall platted the cemetery. Each grave is 6 feet wide and 9 feet long; each lot is 18 feet square with a 3 foot walkway between lots. Where lots border on the 20 foot road right-of-ways, there is a 5 foot walkway.

The two-week old baby of Mr. and Mrs. John Dolenc died on March 5, 1909, and was the first burial in the new cemetery. The second was also a child, Floyd Hogue, the three-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hogue, who drowned in the Little Popo Agie River on March 22, 1909.

The cemetery remained in a natural state, being sagebrush and cactus, until the 1960's when the Homec brothers disked and removed the sagebrush and cactus. In 1973, water was piped to the cemetery and grass was seeded. In later years, two rows of evergreen trees were planted in two cross roads in the cemetery. The wrought iron gate was designed, constructed and installed by Lyle Vinich. The undergroud sprinkler system was completed in 1999.
